Artifact 2.B.

This wiki for applying the steps of the hero’s journey to contemporary films shows how I met standards 2.B and 2.E. Students received formative assessments on the steps of the hero’s journey ahead of time and then self-selected groups in which to work on their summative assessment, the wiki. Given class time to work with in-person assistance from classmates and myself was useful but this project also managed technology resources through flexible computer lab scheduling and the use of a Web 2.0 tool so students could work at home and at other times in the school day. This project promoted inquiry, discussion, research and citation skills, technology skills, and project management, showing that current research into 21st Century Learning skills were considered when planning the learning experience.
